The love I know is unconditional
The love I know cares resoundingly
Everyone eats keeping the others in mind
A portion is always left for those who haven't eaten yet.
The love I know is encompassing
You would know that you are not just welcome,
But that you are part of it
That you have been embraced in the circle
The love I know thrives in growth
No one should settle for mediocrity
It gives tough love if it has to
Just so you push yourself to become better
The love I know has abundance
Not of material things but of emotional support
You are heard even before you ask
You are listened to even in your silence
The love I know is unreserved
It goes out of its way to tell you that you are loved
It goes out of its way to take action
It goes out of its way despite the distance, despite the circumstance
The love I know is overflowing
You can't question it because you know it's never less
The love I know is forgiving
It takes genuine care of you despite your mistakes
The love I know is not shy
Because it fears no rejection
No room for embarrassment
For it knows it is true
Others have their own version of love that for them is enough
But when you've felt the love I know
You'll understand why it can't be unseen
Can you ever settle for something that's less?
I believe people are capable of the love I know
There might even be other love that's greater
If there is, show me and I'll embrace it
For we shouldn't settle for less just because it is what we've come to know.
The love I know is what I will uphold with closed eyes and tears.
